Garmin Watch J1 Approach

Help the next generation of golfers learn the game with confidence. The Garmin Approach J1 is a slim and lightweight GPS golf watch designed specifically for junior golfers, combining essential golf information with features that make learning the course easier and more engaging.

From choosing the right tee position to understanding distance, pace of play and personal goals, the Approach J1 gives young golfers useful information directly on their wrist without getting in the way of their swing. It comes preloaded with more than 43,000 golf courses worldwide, giving junior players the tools to learn, practise and develop their game as they gain experience.

Why It Stands Out?

• Made specifically for junior golfers: Unlike a standard adult golf smartwatch, the Approach J1 is designed around the needs of young players, with a slim, lightweight design and a comfortable fabric strap suitable for smaller wrists.
• Tee-off guidance: Help young golfers understand where to play from based on their ability. The watch provides forward tee locations, including positions further down the fairway, across more than 43,000 preloaded courses.
• Personal Par: Young golfers can set a realistic personal par based on their current ability and adjust it as their game improves. This makes progress easier to understand while helping build confidence.
• Learn better pace of play: A visual pace-of-play timer gives junior golfers a simple way to understand how quickly they should play each hole.
• Club suggestions: The Approach J1 can recommend clubs based on the clubs in the golfer’s bag and the distance to the green, helping young players make more informed decisions on the course.
• Distance information at a glance: View distances to the front, middle and back of the green, along with layup and dogleg information, to help develop better course-management skills.
• Keep score directly on the watch: Record scores after each hole and review the round through the Garmin Golf app.
• Automatic shot detection: The watch can measure shot distance, giving young golfers useful feedback as they learn how far they hit different clubs.
• Built for learning: Golf-learning features can be customised or switched off as the player becomes more experienced and comfortable with the game.
• Bright AMOLED touchscreen: The 1.2-inch AMOLED display provides a clear, colourful interface designed to make important information easy to see during a round.
• Lightweight for the swing: At approximately 29 g, the Approach J1 is designed to stay comfortable and unobtrusive while the golfer plays.
• Up to 15 hours of GPS battery life: Enough battery life for extended time on the course without constantly worrying about recharging.
• 5 ATM water rating: The watch is designed to handle everyday water exposure and playing in wet conditions.
• Garmin Golf app: Pair the Approach J1 with the Garmin Golf app to review scorecards, personal par and pace-of-play information.
